The objective of the seminar is to introduce Can Tho to Indian investors regarding the city's socio-economic achievements, potentials, investment opportunities, trade, and support policies.

At the seminar, enterprises from India and Can Tho city exchanged information and shared experiences on solutions for business recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, in the business-to-business (B2B) networking session, 6 businesses from Can Tho city met and worked with 22 businesses from India in the fields of agriculture, food processing, pharmaceuticals, garment, etc.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Van Hong said that Vietnam and India have a long-lasting relationship and traditional friendship that has been cultivated and developed for generations. Every year, departments and agencies in Can Tho city cooperate with the Vietnam - India Friendship Association to organize many cultural exchange programs and activities to strengthen friendship and exploit cooperation opportunities between Can Tho city and India. Currently, Can Tho city has a relatively complete infrastructure, well-qualified human resources, especially in the fields of information technology, services, telecommunications, food technology, and pharmaceuticals… Mr. Nguyen Van Hong hopes that, through the online seminar, Indian businesses will invest in Can Tho city in the near future. Can Tho city leaders will to create all favorable conditions for foreign enterprises to invest and trade in Can Tho city; especially Indian businesses.

He believed that the cooperation between India and Can Tho city will bring mutual benefits to businesses of both sides. For further cooperation, he will encourage businesses in India to explore investment opportunities as well as promote trade exchanges in Can Tho city. Taking the suggestions from Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Hong into account, Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi thanked Can Tho city’s leaders for co-chairing the online investment promotion - trade seminar for Indian businesses today. He hoped that the trade cooperation between India and Vietnam in general and India and Can Tho city in particular would develop significantly in the future.
