The American University in Vietnam (AUV) presented scholarships to excellent students in Can Tho city

On the afternoon of January 5th, the scholarship program of The American University in Vietnam (AUV) and Opensky Magazine for excellent students in Can Tho city took place at the People's Committee of Can Tho City. Representatives of Can Tho city were Mr. Duong Tan Hien - Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho city and representatives of relevant departments and agencies.
Representatives The American University in Vietnam (AUV) and Opensky Magazine presented scholarships to excellent students in Can Tho city.

According to Dr. Duong Manh Cuong - Representative of the northern branch of the American University in Vietnam (AUV), the AUV decided to present 41 scholarships to s excellent students in Can Tho city. They include a full-time scholarship worth 60,000 USD, 10 half scholarships, and 30 others of 18,000 USD each (30% of the program value). The scholarships are awarded to 3 majors namely Marketing, Multimedia, Information Technology and Informatics. This is a 4-year master's scholarship program; in which students have 2 years of study at AUV University in Vietnam and 2 years of study at 1 of 20 famous universities in the US.

At the meeting, Dr. Duong Manh Cuong, chief representative of the AUV's northern branch, shared that AUV is a member of the American Education Group in Vietnam. The school was established in 2015 with a training system from bachelor's to master's level, taught by 100% of teachers from the US. Through the awarding of scholarships, Dr. Duong Manh Cuong hopes that many excellent students will not need to spend a lot of money to benefit from American education. After completing the program, they will contribute to building a rich and strong Vietnam. Dr. Duong Manh Cuong also shared his idea of ​​building a new branch in Can Tho City in the near future.

For his part, Mr. Duong Tan Hien - Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho city said that Can Tho has rolled out programs to support students and officials to study abroad in an effort to provide the city with high-quality human resources. The scholarships offered by the northern branch of the AUV will help the city successfully carry out a resolution on its development to 2030 with a vision to 2045, focusing on health care and education, he added.

In addition, Standing Vice Chairman Duong Tan Hien assigned the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to provide information, create favorable conditions for AUV to do surveys and research in Can Tho city; towards the goal of improving the training quality of the city.

After the meeting, Mr. Duong Tan Hien invited representatives of the northern branch of the AUV to join a fact-finding trip in Can Tho for the prompt establishment of a new branch in the city.
