During the reception, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Thuc Hien, mentioned that the city has been implementing various foreign affairs programs and specific plans in accordance with the Central Government’s orientation. These programs cover a wide range of fields, including economic-cultural diplomacy, delegation visits, overseas Vietnamese, signing and implementing international agreements, consular work, and citizen protection.

Can Tho City's foreign affairs and international integration activities are carried out effectively and synchronously, taking into account the local conditions and contributing to the growth of the city's economy and society.

The leader of Can Tho City requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to preside over or propose ministries and agencies to coordinate with Can Tho City to organize international events to promote the city's position as the hub of the Mekong Delta. He also suggested organizing annual training in various appropriate forms (face-to-face or online) so that civil servants and public employees can receive training in foreign affairs knowledge and skills every year.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Thuc Hien believes that through this meeting, Can Tho City will have more orientations to effectively deploy and organize foreign affairs activities in the coming time.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang praised Can Tho City for its successful organization of major international events, which have been internationally recognized and highly appreciated by foreign partners.

The official emphasized that Can Tho, being the capital of the Western region, has enormous potential for development in all areas of economics, politics, and society. Therefore, the city must promote its role in foreign affairs, representing not only the Mekong Delta region but also Vietnam as a whole.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is ready to actively support Can Tho in promoting foreign affairs and international integration, which will help the city attract more foreign partners.
