The conference advocated the establishment of the "People's Front against Indochina" or "Indochina Democratic Front".
On March 9, 1945, during the Japanese coup d'etat against the French, the situation in the country was extremely chaotic, and the people's lives were more and more miserable because of the Japanese policy of repression and plunder. Faced with that situation, the Standing Committee of the Party Central Committee advocated "Evicting France - Japan", launching a movement against Japan to save the country, creating a climax for the general rebelling. Can Tho Provincial Party Committee urgently built the United National Front and quickly gathered forces, especially the religions (Cao Dai, Hoa Hao). At the same time, the Western Inter-provincial Party Committee was established in order to firmly consolidate the leadership structure of the mass movement in the western provinces.
After the victory of the August Revolution, the newly established people's government made every effort to consolidate and build the revolutionary base in the new situation, besides still attaching great importance to the preparation for new wars, because even at the time when the government was won, the domestic and international situation was still very complicated, many reactionary and hostile forces continued to operate and threatened the newly formed fledgling government.
After the victory of the resistance war against the French, the revolutionary government and the people of Can Tho province entered a new revolutionary phase under new circumstances and conditions, switching from armed struggle to political struggle to protect the Geneva Agreement and the revolutionary results. Military and people of the whole province strive to build a new life, on the other hand, they are always ready to fight against destructive forces and against the illusion of peace, sleeping on victory; The people's will and faith in the revolution were consolidated more than ever.
