At the conference, delegates engaged in activities to promote investment cooperation between five centrally-run cities and the Mekong Delta provinces. Numerous reports and discussions focused on the current situation and solutions to promote e-commerce development for the One Commune One Product (OCOP) products, boost transportation linkage, improve the investment environment, increase investment attraction, digital transformation, etc. Additionally, delegates focused on attracting investments, facilitating connections between supply and demand with businesses in towns and provinces, and investing in and developing clean energy sources for sustainable production and reducing emissions of industrial output. Furthermore, a signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Department of Industry and Trade of the 5 centrally-run cities took place within the framework of the conference.

Before today’s conference, Can Tho Municipal Department of Industry and Trade organized an event to connect trade between 5 centrally-run cities and the Mekong Delta provinces on August 29.

Businesses participated in the event.

The conference provides a valuable opportunity for manufacturing, trading, and distribution enterprises to share experiences, discover new partnerships, and broaden their markets for goods and services. The event also creates favorable conditions for enterprises to establish connections and production and consumption chains between provinces and cities across the country, focusing on expanding into export markets.

The Director of Can Tho Municipal Department of Industry and Trade, Ha Vu Son, stated that the Mekong Delta has significant advantages in developing rice and agricultural products. It accounts for about 90% of rice export output and 75% of the country's agricultural product export output. Despite these advantages, regional enterprises still face many difficulties and challenges in their production and business operations. Therefore, the Mekong Delta aims to establish trade connections with economically significant areas such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Hai Phong.

Through this conference, Mr. Ha Vu Son aims to promote trade cooperation activities, enhance brand promotion, develop the production of typical rural industrial products, OCOP products, and distinct specialty products, stimulate consumption, and expand the market within the five centrally-run cities and provinces in the Mekong Delta region.

Various activities were held during the conference, such as connecting and signing cooperation agreements between manufacturers, traders, and distributors in provinces and cities and establishing B2B connections between distribution systems and suppliers. Additionally, there were activities to showcase and promote the typical OCOP products of localities and regions participating in the conference.
