The 15th “Music, Traditional Singing, and Spring Skit Festival” opening ceremony.

Taking place from January 13 to January 17, 2025, the festival attracts over 200 performers and musicians, featuring more than 120 performances from various organizations across the city. These include nine districts, agencies and units, universities, colleges, vocational schools, high schools, independent art organizations, as well as clubs, groups, troupes, and individuals passionate about the arts.

Building on the success of the previous 14 festivals, this 15th edition serves as both a playground and a dynamic arena for public art groups to showcase their talents. Enthusiasts of music, traditional singing, and spring-themed skits will have the opportunity to shine and learn from one another. The festival promotes community art movements through these competitive activities, affirms traditional cultural values, enhances spiritual life, and fosters community bonds.

Organizers present commemorative flags to participating units.

Beyond providing a platform for exchange, the 2025 “Music, Traditional Singing, and Spring Skit Festival” also encourages participants to invest in and produce high-quality artistic programs to entertain the public in the festive atmosphere of the Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake, 2025). This is also an occasion for the cultural sector to evaluate community art activities, propose appropriate solutions, and improve the quality of organization and performances. Consequently, the grassroots cultural and artistic movements of Can Tho and the Mekong Delta region are expected to flourish and better meet the public's demand for artistic enjoyment.

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, the Director of Can Tho Municipal Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, highlighted Can Tho's commitment to enhancing the quality and effectiveness of cultural and artistic activities. Guided by the Politburo's Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW dated June 16, 2008, which focuses on building and developing Vietnamese literature and the arts in the new era, as well as the Cultural Development Project of Can Tho City through 2030, the city has actively launched a range of cultural and artistic programs. By hosting regional and national events and maintaining numerous annual cultural programs, Can Tho has created a vibrant astisitc environment fostering and promoting positive values within the community.
