During the conference, the Can Tho Municipal Department of Planning and Investment representative provided updates on the city's socio-economic situation, national defense, and security in the third quarter. They outlined critical tasks for the fourth quarter of 2024. Additionally, the Department of Information and Communications representative shared information about press activities in the city during the third quarter.

Press and media agency representatives raised several questions regarding the stagnation in the execution of judgments, the slow progress of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project, and flooding on certain roads during heavy rain. The press agencies also requested the Can Tho City People's Committee and various departments, sectors, and agencies to provide more information about the progress of city projects, the construction of the artistic flower Street in 2025, budget collection, and land revenue. Traffic safety was a primary concern highlighted by several press agencies, including issues such as the lack of street lights at the roundabout near the Can Tho City Central Bus Station and deteriorating road conditions causing traffic jams and safety hazards in various districts. The leaders of Can Tho municipal departments, sectors, and agencies addressed and provided further information on the issues raised by the press agencies.

The content of the articles has been rich and highly critical, covering areas such as economics, culture, society, foreign affairs, and the fight against corruption and negativity. This has contributed to helping Can Tho recognize its commendable achievements and areas that need improvement. Mr. Duong Tan Hien has requested the Can Tho Municipal Department of Information and Communications to work with the Can Tho City Party Committee's Propaganda Department to effectively guide the propaganda of press activities and carry out effective state management out of the press. He emphasized that Can Tho municipal departments, sectors, agencies, and units should pay attention to the content reported by the press, focus on directing inspections, and thoroughly resolve the cases reported by the media. They must also report the implementation results to the Can Tho City People's Committee and propose actions beyond their authority.
