The meeting was attended by Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee of the city; Mr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city; Mr. Mai Nhu Toan, Director of the Department of Construction; Mr. Tran Tien Dung, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People Council of Ninh Kieu district, and other delegates of the Ninh Kieu District’s People Council.
During the voter engagement session, the City’s People Council delegates and the Ninh Kieu District’s People Council delegates reported to the voters on the implementation of resolutions by the City’s People Council and the District’s People Council regarding socio-economic issues, national defense and security in the first six months of the year, as well as the direction and tasks for the remaining six months of 2024. They also discussed the planned program and agenda for the mid-year session of the City’s People Council and the Ninh Kieu District’s People Council, and reported on the results of addressing the opinions and suggestions of the voters before and after the district’s people council session.

During the meeting, many voters expressed their opinions on environmental sanitation issues such as waste collection, waste pollution in rivers; the construction of Hoang Quoc Viet road and the embankment of Ba Bo canal causing cracks and damage to houses without knowing who to claim compensation from; the risk of traffic safety at the intersection of Hoang Quoc Viet road and National Highway 91B; issues related to public land management. The voters also made recommendations for the functional departments to enhance patrols and strictly handle cases of electrofishing that affect aquatic resources. After hearing the opinions from the voters, the representatives of Ninh Kieu District responded to the issues raised by the voters within their authority. At the same time, the City’s People Council delegates acknowledged, exchanged, and took note of the opinions and suggestions proposed by the voters.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho city, provided basic information about the socio-economic situation of the city in the first five months of 2024 and outlined the city's development solutions for the future. Chairman Tran Viet Truong expressed his gratitude to the voters for their contributions and opinions provided to the City’s People Council delegates and the District’s People Council. He acknowledged that the specific opinions and suggestions raised by the voters regarding urgent issues related to environmental sanitation, public land management, and protection of aquatic resources. Furthermore, Chairman Tran Viet Truong explained the matters within his authority and assured that the opinions and suggestions of the voters will be recorded, summarized, and reported to the city's leadership and relevant departments for consideration and resolution according to their authority.
