The first Can Tho Online Tourism Fair is held in response to the Plan 3228/KH-BVHTTDL dated September 7th, 2021 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the implementation of policies to stimulate demand, restore tourism and travel activities; Resolution No. 02-NQ/TU dated August 4th, 2021 of Can Tho Municipal Party Committee on the digital transformation of Can Tho city to 2025, orientation to 2030.

The event will take place from December 22nd, 2021 to January 10th, 2022, on the digital platform https://hoichodulichcantho.vn/ or https://canthotm.vn/. The online fair is expected to have about 100 booths from the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces/cities in the country; tourism promotion centers; accommodation establishments, tourist attractions as well as businesses in the fields of tourist transport management, gastronomy, shopping, entertainment, health care, etc.

The main activities at the Fair include Organizing exhibition, online booths where participants can post logos, information about their units and products, as well as information regarding incentives, publications, images, video clips for tourism promotion; Opening of the online Fair; in collaboration with Can Tho University to organize an online tourism seminar named “Joining hands to restore the tourism sector” (2 forms: directly and online on Zoom, CanTho Tourism fanpage) to create opportunities to connect and trade directly between businesses.

As the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic remains complicated, adapting and accelerating digital transformation is very necessary and effective to maintain the brands of the units in the current time. Moreover, the online fair is also to adapt to the new “normal state” and to recover the tourism sector in the near future. This is an opportunity for Can Tho city, travel agencies, and businesses across the country to promote tourism images, attractive products, and services of localities.
