On the evening of April 1, Mr. Nguyen Thuc Hien, Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People’s Committee, along with relevant departments, agencies, the city’s ODA Project Management Board, and the Ninh Kieu District People’s Committee, welcomed a delegation from the World Bank and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), led by Mr. Thomas Gass, Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam, and Ms. Mariam J. Sherman, World Bank Division Director for Viet Nam, Cambodia, and Laos. The delegation paid a courtesy visit and observed a water music performance at the Cai Khe Lock.

On April 2, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Thuc Hien, along with representatives from relevant departments and the city’s ODA Project Management Board, held a working session with Ms. Mariam J. Sherman, World Bank (WB) Division Director for Viet Nam, Cambodia and Lao PDR, and Mr. Thomas Gass, Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam. The meeting focused on the Can Tho Urban Development and Resilience Project (Project 3).

On April 1, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen presided over a meeting to review the implementation of public investment tasks for 2025 and assess responsibilities in carrying out public investment plans for 2024 and the 2021 - 2025 period.

On April 1, Can Tho City Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in collaboration with the Can Tho Union of Literary and Artistic Associations, organized the opening ceremony of the thematic exhibition and photo exhibition titled “Can Tho’s Literature and Arts: A 50-Year Journey (1975-2025).”

On March 30, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep hosted a working session with a delegation from Guangdong Province's Shantou City led by its Vice Mayor to discuss strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors.

On the morning of March 29, the Can Tho City Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism held a press conference to provide information about the activities and events organized for the Hung Kings’ Commemoration and the 12th Southern Folk Cake Festival in 2025. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, Vice Chairwoman of the Can Tho City People’s Committee, attended and chaired the press conference.

On the morning of March 25th, Mr. Duong Tan Hien, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City had a meeting with Mr. Yaron Mayer, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel in Vietnam.

Festivals are considered a unique resource that facilitates economic development while simultaneously introducing and promoting the distinctive cultural features of localities and regions to both domestic and international visitors. In recent years, many Mekong Delta localities have effectively leveraged festivals' value to boost tourism, creating remarkable events that attract many tourists.

On March 21, the Department of Construction of Can Tho City, the Road and Sewerage Bureau of Japan's Fukuoka City, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on a technical cooperation project to enhance Can Tho’s drainage systems and resilience to climate change. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc He, Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee, attended the signing ceremony.

On March 22, in Can Tho City, a working delegation from the People's Committee of Hanoi met and worked with the People's Committee of Can Tho to exchange experiences on science and technology development between the two cities in the coming period.
