Surveying and Developing a River Tourism Route
Date: 27/09/2024

On September 25, the Can Tho Tourism Development Center organized a survey team to assess and develop a river tourism route in the city.
The survey team visited Talison Con Son, a floating restaurant.

The survey team included leadership from the city's Tourism Association, along with representatives from 13 tourism businesses.

The survey team explored the river route through districts such as Ninh Kieu, Cai Rang, and Binh Thuy, visiting diverse destinations along the river branches and small canals, including Cai Rang Floating Market, Kara Homestay & Café, Ut Truyen's traditional toy-making site, Nhat Tam Farm's grape garden, and the floating restaurant Talison Con Son... Tourism businesses believe that Can Tho's river tourism potential is significant, with a network of intricate canals that highlight heritage sites and relics along the route. However, transportation infrastructure, piers, and services along the river tourism route need further investment to ensure safety and quality for travelers.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Le, Director of the Can Tho Tourism Development Center, stated that the survey aimed to assess the current state of river tourism destinations, one of the tourism products that Can Tho is focusing on for future investment. The survey provides us with an overview of the advantages and limitations, gathers feedback from tourism businesses, and offers recommendations for developing Can Tho's river tourism products.

The survey will serve as a foundation for developing and connecting Can Tho's distinctive river tourism route as part of a broader effort to build river tourism products linking Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, and the Mekong Delta provinces, scheduled for November.
